With 400,000 blind people, many facing financial barriers to accessible technology, our academy provides specialized training in assistive technologies, digital literacy, and soft skills.
Vision Ability Tech Academy is not just relevant but a critical necessity in today's digital age. As technology increasingly pervades every aspect of modern life, the ability of visually impaired individuals to access,
understand, and leverage these technologies becomes paramount. Such a specialized school would provide tailored education and training that address the unique challenges faced by visually impaired students, ensuring they gain proficiency in using assistive technologies,
navigating digital interfaces, and developing skills in programming, web development, and other tech-related fields.
By equipping visually impaired individuals with these skills, Vision Ability Tech Academy empowers them to participate more fully in the workforce, breaking down barriers to employment and fostering independence.

About Our Founder
Tebogo Motubatse’s journey is one of resilience, transformation, and purpose. Born and raised in Soshanguve, Pretoria, Tebogo was once at the helm of a thriving mini-factory called Nandi, where she and her team produced low-cost, biodegradable sanitary pads for the community. With a promising business,, and an active life, Tebogo was on a steady path of success and impact.
But life took an unexpected turn when she fell seriously ill. This illness resulted in the complete loss of her eyesight, challenging everything she knew and throwing her into a world of uncertainty. For Tebogo, the transition was daunting, but she was determined not to let blindness define her future.
Driven to regain independence, Tebogo enrolled at Optima College, where she spent two months learning computer fundamentals tailored for the visually impaired. Here, she developed critical skills that not only restored her confidence but also opened new doors to a future she had not yet imagined.
Eager to continue building on her skills, Tebogo joined the absa Cybersecurity Academy at Hein Wagner Academy , where she trained with a dedicated cybersecurity team. In this field, she thrived, proving to herself and others that blindness was no barrier to success in technology. Her journey in cybersecurity solidified her passion for technology and the powerful role it could play in transforming lives.
Inspired to share her knowledge with
others, Tebogo is now working to bring Vision Ability Tech Academy to life. Her
vision for the academy is to provide
essential technology training for the
blind, creating opportunities for independence and employment within her
community and beyond. Although Vision Ability
Tech Academy is still in its early stages,
Tebogo is determined to build a space where technology can empower the visually
impaired to reach their full
potential.
Through her ongoing work, Tebogo is building a future where blindness is not a barrier, but a unique pathway to confidence, capability, and community.
